Paramount Planning 'Top Gun 3' with Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise will finally receive his first Oscar when he’s honored with an honorary Academy Award at the 2025 Governors Awards, the Academy announced Tuesday. Cruise, previously nominated four times, is being recognized for his contributions to the film industry.

Dolly Parton will be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her decades of charitable work. Also receiving honorary Oscars are Debbie Allen, celebrated for her five-decade career in choreography, acting, and producing, and Wynn Thomas, a production designer known for his longtime collaborations with Spike Lee. The ceremony will take place November 16 in Hollywood.
