Rae Sremmurd has officially reached a career milestone as their 2016 smash “Black Beatles,” featuring Gucci Mane, has been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. The honor marks over 10 million units sold in the U.S., cementing the duo’s place among hip-hop’s elite.
Originally released on their second album SremmLife 2, “Black Beatles” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven straight weeks and became the soundtrack to the viral #MannequinChallenge, defining a moment in internet and pop culture history. Now, nearly a decade later, the record’s impact remains resonant.
The Mississippi-born duo, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, have built a resume filled with platinum plaques. Hits like “No Type” (7× Platinum), “Come Get Her” (5× Platinum), and “Throw Sum Mo” (3× Platinum) reflect Rae Sremmurd’s ability to craft anthems that cross boundaries. Their debut albums, SremmLife and SremmLife 2, each went Platinum, while their 2018 triple-album SR3MM showcased solo work and collaborative energy, spawning the hits “Powerglide” and “Guatemala.”
Their latest album, SREMM 4 LIFE, dropped in 2023, peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and earning a spot on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2023 list. With “Black Beatles” reaching Diamond status, Rae Sremmurd continues to prove their legacy is far from finished.
