Stephanie Dunivan: A Cultural Powerhouse Driving Storytelling Through Video

Stephanie Dunivan is more than a media and video production leader—she’s a dynamic force for inspiration, transformation, and cultural impact. With a career rooted in amplifying meaningful stories,  has been a quiet architect behind some of the most influential institutions in Black culture, using the power of video to elevate voices and shape narratives that resonate.

Her legacy began with BET’s iconic 106 & Park, where she transitioned from being part of the show’s debut audience to becoming a pivotal producer throughout its evolution. She later produced red carpet specials for BET and the Soul Train Awards, bringing unforgettable cultural moments to life. Most recently, as the former Vice President of Video at Essence, she served as Executive Producer of the acclaimed Black Women in Hollywood event, celebrating luminaries such as Cynthia Erivo, Teyana Taylor, Raamla Ali, and the legendary Marla Gibbs.

In 2025, Dunivan launched her own creative agency, Ruby Shoe Creative, with a mission grounded in authenticity and purpose. Her debut project made headlines—reviving 106 & Park for its 25th anniversary during BET Awards 2025, featuring viral moments like Druski’s recreation of Ginuwine’s unforgettable performance.

Continuing her legacy of cultural stewardship, Dunivan is now leading video strategy for the historic Apollo Theater during its landmark year-long renovation—bringing her vision and voice to yet another legendary institution.
